Obituary for Captain Jason M. Yardley (Retired)

Aurora, Utah - It's with heavy hearts we say good-bye to our amazing husband, father, son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin and friend. Jason Mel Yardley, age 38, passed away February 10, 2015 at his home in Aurora. He fought the hardest battle of his life these past 5 years with Oral Cancer. He led by example, lived with honor, and is a light in the center of the darkest storm. He was born October 10, 1976 in Richfield, Utah, a son of Melvin Walter and Debra Jean Jensen Yardley. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1995. He received his Associate of Science Degree from Snow College; his Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University and his Masters Degree from the American Military University. Jason married Heather Aspen Simpson, September 28, 2002 in the Manti LDS Temple. As a career Air Force man, Captain Jason M. Yardley (retired) C130 Pilot, served two tours in Kuwait and in Operation Freedom. His last assignment was Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He completed his Eagle Scout at a very young age, served an honorable mission to Texas San Antonio Spanish Speaking Mission from 1996 to 1998. He served as Sunday School President, Sunday School Teacher, Young Men's Advisor and Home Teacher. Jason liked any and everything with speed: motorcycles, cars, planes and sports, especially the NFL. He lived his life for his family and loved doing everything with them. We will love and miss him forever. We have been privileged to have him in our lives. We are eternally grateful for having had him in our lives. Jason is survived by his wife, Heather; his four sons: Dylan, Jackson, Kellen and Harrison; his parents, Mel and Debra Yardley, all of Aurora; brothers: Jaren and Pam Yardley of Richfield; Justin and Janet Yardley, and their son, Zachary, of Scottsdale, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale Jensen, Howard and Mary Yardley; his in-laws: Heath Simpson and Karen Cox; an uncle, Richard Chris Jensen and a nephew, Aaron Yardley. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Aurora 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 85 North Main Street, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Wednesday morning from 110:30 to 11:30 prior to the services.
