Riverside, California - Thomas Darwin Bay, passed away on October 29, 2026, in Riverside, California, at the age of 78. Born on May 7, 1948, in Marysvale, Utah, to Thello Darwin Bay and Evelyn Louise Cuff. Tom lived a life filled with music, creativity, movies, and family.
Tom married the love of his life, Josephine Rudd, on June 2, 1971, in the Cardston Alberta Temple. Together, they built a life and family that meant everything to him. He was a devoted husband, a loving father to his daughter, Tiffiny, and a proud father-in-law to Jereme. His greatest joys were his grandchildren, Paisley-Bay, Sabine, and Darwin Grey, who held a very special place in his heart.
A man of many talents, Tom was an accomplished pianist and singer who shared his love of music throughout his life. His passion for the arts led him to earn a master's degree in film from Brigham Young University. He also directed numerous plays, bringing stories to life through his creativity, vision, and love of the performing arts.
While Tom had many accomplishments, some of his happiest moments were the simplest ones. He treasured joining Tiffiny and her family on their adventures and family trips, creating memories with the grandchildren he adored. He loved to travel, enjoyed the beach and a good book, and never passed up an opportunity to enjoy a scoop of ice cream.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dallas, TX. Tom enjoyed a life of faithful church service, serving as a counselor to 5 bishops, as a member of the high council, a temple ordinance worker in the San Diego temple, and most recently, he was his ward’s organist.
Tom had an appreciation for life's little pleasures and understood that the best memories were often made with the people you love. Whether through music, travel, or family gatherings, he found joy in the world around him.
Tom leaves behind a legacy of faith, talent, cherished memories, and a family who will forever carry his love in their hearts. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
