Obituary

Richfield/Koosharem, Utah - Pauline Call Torgersen passed away October 7, 2026. Following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, she died peacefully at home, surrounded by the husband she loved, the family she taught how to love, and the many quilts she lovingly crafted.

She was born July 22, 1949 in Afton, Wyoming to George Hale Call and Betty Joan Call. She married Rodney Torgersen on Dec 29, 1971 in the Manti Temple.

Pauline had a passion and gift for service, and held many callings in the LDS church, her favorite being nursery leader. One of the great joys of her life was serving with her husband Rod as a Senior Missionary couple in the Washington DC South Mission. She gave unreservedly and connected with people easily.

Pauline periodically wrote down her wishes and thoughts on life and end of life. “If there is something I would like anyone to know when I die, it is that I love my husband with all my heart. I have had a wonderful life. I love my children and grandchildren. I love their spouses as if they were my own children and I consider them family in every way. I have had a wonderful, happy, and very interesting life. I have been able to travel the world, in person and in books. I’ve been able to do many things that I never thought possible. I am thankful to my parents, brothers and sisters and friends who have enriched my life.”

Pauline is survived by her adored husband of 55 years, Rodney Torgersen; her beloved children and in-laws, Megynn Allynn (aka Craig Torgersen), Cindy Torgersen Platter, Dan Platter, Blake Torgersen, Jenae Boyer Torgersen, Laura Torgersen, Tom (aka Glenn) Torgersen, Dianna Gonzalez Torgersen, Dallas Torgersen, and Adrianne Zollinger Torgersen; and her marvelous grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents George Hale Call and Betty Joan Call.

In lieu of flowers, Pauline requested charitable donations, specifically for The Richfield Library and The LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund. The family also suggests The Alzheimer’s Association.

The family would like to express their boundless gratitude to the caregivers who made it possible to care for her at home. The generous compassion and loving care of Janice Berthelson, Suzanne Seng of Cami’s Comfort Care, the staff of Zion’s Way Hospice, and Richfield 2nd Ward Relief Society touched our hearts.

Funeral services for Pauline will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 600 West 200 South in Richfield. Viewings will be held Friday evening, October 16th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West, in Richfield, as well as the morning of the funeral, from 9:30-10:30 at the LDS Chapel.

Livestreaming of Pauline’s service will be available at springerturner.com under her obituary 15 minutes before service starts.

Burial will be at 2:30 PM, on the 17th in the Koosharem Cemetery under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina.
