Monroe, Utah – Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Susan Lee Hamilton Becker Bogart, age 74, passed away October 9, 2022 at her home in Monroe. She was born March 24, 1948 in Keene, New Hampshire, a daughter of Arthur G. Hamilton Sr. and Ruth Spear Hamilton. She grew up in Old Orchard Beach, Maine and graduated from Old Orchard High School, Class of 1966, where she was a member of the Planets Club, Rainbow Girls and the Girl Scouts. She loved going to the beach, dancing and enjoying time with her many friends. After graduation from high school, she relocated to the west coast and lived in Orange and Riverside, California.

Susan married the love of her life, David Bogart in Riverside, California May 30, 1992. She and David had a great and wonderful marriage, both very much in love for over 30 years. She loved her home in Monroe.

Susan was a Christian, not a member of any particular church, but attended churches that were “Jesus teaching, Bible preaching.”.

She loved animals, especially cats. She and David started a cat rescue called Moagie Haven Heaven and spent countless hours caring for abandoned and often injured animals. She enjoyed birds, especially hummingbirds. She loved gardening, plants, flowers, reading and even edited several books.

Susan enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives while sharing an artichoke. She was very compassionate, intelligent and witty.

Susan was recently united with her cousin, Molly Gardner, who encouraged her to delve into her genealogy, and that became a passion for her.

She enjoyed her weekly virtual lunches with her good friends from Maine including Nancy Marion Kathryn Dolby, Nancy Pineau, Many and Jack Newton, Donna Kurlanska, Don Jarry, David Patry, Sylvia Orchard, Maurice Paquette, Maruice Petrun, Jim Hersom, Bob Camden, Paul Timberlake, Jeanne Foley, Phyllis Kimball, Ruthie Corliss, Cindy Small, Chuck Lugrin, Teri Thomas and Maggie Adams. Her friends will remember Susan by her wit, sense of humor and the connection they have enjoyed since childhood.

She will be dearly missed and always loved.

Susan is survived by her beloved husband, Dave Bogart of Monroe; her children: Sheri Becker of Hurricane; Jack Becker of Richfield; Deanne Becker of Opelika, Alabama; Ricky and Diedre Becker of Mt. Eden, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Janice Hamilton of Derry, New Hampshire; Priscilla Pond of Lewiston, Maine; David Hamilton of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; Arthur and Joyce Hamilton of Sanford, Maine.
