Salina, Utah - Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Sheradeen Ranay Peterson, age 75, passed away on January 18, 2026 at her home in Salina surrounded by her loved ones.
Sheradeen was born on January 25, 1950, to Bill Eden and Arthelle Blackburn in Tooele, where she spent her childhood years. She had fond memories swimming, camping, singing, she loved to run and was very fast. She attended Tooele High School.
In 1968 she married Joe Bates, their marriage later ended in divorce. She married Reed Peterson in 1992. He preceded her in death in 2013.
Sheradeen worked at the Salina Turkey Plant for 8 years, SUFCO Mine for 15 - 20 years, and then served as a lunch lady in Salina for 8 years. Sheradeen showed her love by cooking, she absolutely loved cooking for others. Her food was amazing, whether it was dutch oven or on a conventional oven. Everything she cooked was delicious.
She found so much joy in playing games with anyone, but especially with her children and grandchildren. She always put everyone above herself, "Living and Giving" was her motto and she lived by that. Her family has fond memories of getting spoiled with trips to get Slurpee's and Ice Cream from 7-Eleven. Everything Sheradeen did, she put her everything into. She was an incredible mother of understanding, support, and giving. To know her was to love her, her joy and her spirit will be missed and will live on through her family.
Sheradeen leaves behind her children: Sammy (Candy) Bates, of Aurora and Meriah Harper, Brickell (Robert) Jensen, Jeremy Peterson all of Salina; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; Siblings: Joe (Vickie) Eden, Darla (Bill) Carlson all of Kearns, Randy (Shelly) Eden of Lucerne, California, Janelle Kurshlin of Price, Vickie (John) Bentons of Erda.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reed Peterson; first husband, Joe Bates; Daughter, Tina Bates; Son-in-Law, Jared Harper; Grandson, Dillon Bates; 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Cremation services for Sharadeen are under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina.
A celebration of life for Sheradeen will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M. on January 31, 2026, at 720 West Main, Salina, Utah.
