Scott Jerry Woolsey, age 61, passed away at his home on June 15, 2026. Scott was born June 3, 1965 in Gunnison, Utah to Jerry Rulon and Katherine May Rees Woolsey. He grew up in Bicknell and graduated from Wayne High School, class of 1983. He married a hell of a woman, Heidi Miller in Torrey, UT on April 29, 1994.
Scott loved life and lived it to the fullest with his best friend, Gus by his side. Scott was raised logging in the Southern Utah mountains with his dad and brother. This is where he developed his passion for Peterbilt trucks. He was a trucker at heart and recently purchased the black truck of his dreams and loved spending time in it. Scott was a true outdoorsman and always wanted to be in the mountains. He enjoyed shed hunting, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and his ultimate passion, hunting buffalo on the Henry Mountains, his home away from home. He was a member of the Wayne County SAR for 32 years and held the position of commander for 8 years. He was willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was the beloved “town man” of Bicknell for the past 25 years. Scott was a member of the LDS church.
Scott is survived by his wife Heidi, of Bicknell; brother: Wade and Valerie Woolsey, of Bicknell; sister-in-law: Trudi and Mike Owens, of Panguitch; uncle: Ronnie Rees, of Loa; nieces: Falyn, Myca, and Byntlee Owens, of Panguitch; nieces and nephew: Whitney and Parker Peterson, Waylon Woolsey, and Sierra Woolsey, all of Bicknell; cousins TJ and Amber Rees, of Hurricane; “adopted” sister Amy Hatch Gleave, of St.George.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Kathy Woolsey.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at the Bicknell LDS Chapel, visitation will be held from 11:00-12:30 PM at the church, prior to services. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina.
