Obituary

Rosemarie Mayfield, a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She lived a life centered on faith, family, and Christlike service, leaving a lasting legacy of love, resilience, and compassion.

Rose was born on February 10, 1955, in Chandler, Arizona to Norman Franz and Therma Kinder Oliphant Budd. Raised as a proud “military brat,” Rose experienced a childhood shaped by service, frequent moves, and strong family bonds. These early experiences instilled in her a deep sense of adaptability, patriotism, and care for others that remained with her throughout her life.

She faithfully served in her church, as a Temple Worker, Relief Society First Counselor, and Relief Society Instructor. She found great joy in ministering to others and strengthening those around her. Her testimony of Jesus Christ guided her daily life and was reflected in her kindness and service.

She was actively involved in her community as a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion. Professionally, she was a talented cook and later a dedicated realtor of 27 years, known for going above and beyond to ensure her clients felt supported and cared for.

For 44 years, Rose endured significant health challenges. Despite these trials, she remained remarkably positive and encouraging. She faced each day with grace. Though she endured much, Rose consistently answered that she was doing great—an expression of her quiet strength and desire to ease the worries of others.

Rose had a deep love for family and especially cherished children. She found joy in being outdoors, gardening, caring for horses and cattle, camping, and riding four-wheelers. She also had a gift for home decorating, creating warm, welcoming spaces filled with love. Above all, she treasured time spent with her beloved husband, Jim.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, enduring strength, and the love she freely gave. Her life stands as a testament to her Savior, and her family finds peace in the promise of eternal families.

Rose is survived by her mother, Therma  Budd of St. George; her husband, Jim Mayfield of Elsinore; children: Bobbie Wichael of Kearns, Jamie (Dustin) Helquist of Alpine, Lawrence Wichael of Redmond; sisters: Priscilla Daugherty of Las Vegas, Nevada, Hazel (Pat) Matthews of Cedar City, and Carolyn Lytle of St. George; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her father, Norman F. Budd, brother, Norman F. Budd Jr., and son, Andrew J. Mayfield.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Elsinore LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026  at the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, 260 North 400 West, and Friday morning from 9:00-10:30 AM at the church prior to services.

Burial will be in the Elsinore Cemetery under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina.
