Elsinore, Utah - Richard Kent Larsen, the man with a golden heart, passed away at the age of 71 on May 28, 2025 from a difficult battle with cancer. He left this life surrounded by loved ones at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents - Helen and Kent Larsen - and brother - Bruce - in heaven.

Richard was born on July 6, 1953 in Provo, Utah. He was the first of 5 children. He is survived by his brother - Lynn - and sisters - Pat and Lisa. He was raised in Heber City and attended Wasatch High School where he participated in the drama club. Rick attended the University of Utah, where he met his sweetheart, Mary Ann on a blind date. He went on to graduate from Utah State University with a degree in Agricultural Education.

Rick was sealed to Mary Ann on September 15,1972 in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple. They had three beautiful daughters: Malana - married to Wade Jensen, Mandi - married to Kevin Molchan, and Bethanny - married to Clint Shepherd. They blessed him with sixteen grandchildren, with one great-grandson and a great-granddaughter on the way. All of his family members live within 5 miles of his home in Elsinore. His chosen children include Chris Madsen, Thad Troseth, and Tracy Knight.

Rick moved to Richfield to work at Larsen's Ace Hardware with his family. He did his student teaching at Richfield High School and realized teaching wasn't his calling. He did, however, love working with youth. Rick and Mary Ann started a treatment facility for teenagers in 1986 in which he became a father figure for thousands of youth. His passion in life was farming. He raised livestock and grew various crops. He passed on his love of farming to his grandsons and taught them to provide for their families. He left behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and generosity. He was a driven man that loved to share the fruits of his labor with others.

Rick served various callings in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He spent most of his time in the Young Men's program. He also served in the Elder's Quorum and was a High Priest leader. He was most recently working in the Manti temple with his wife. Every person who has ever had the honor of knowing Rick, loves him. He has left a huge impact on this earth and his kindness will never be forgotten.
