Manti, Utah - Richard Dale Larsen passed away at the Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital on May 14, 2026.
Richard was born in Gunnison, Utah, on November 1, 1948, to Leslie Dale Larsen and May Jean Buchanan Larsen. He was a graduate of the Gunnison Valley High School class of 1967. He served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Alaskan/Canadian Mission.
He worked as a flight attendant for Western Airlines, which in later years became Delta Airlines. He worked hard in a profession that he loved. He enjoyed meeting new people every day, finding out where they lived, and hearing about their families.
After his retirement, Richard moved to Manti, Utah. He found small-town living was for him. He liked the community and the people. His close neighbors, the Jensen and the Bishop families, were all so good to him. For the past few months, he was a resident of the Mission at Community Rehabilitation Center in Centerfield, Utah. We appreciate all of the staff at both the Mission and at Gunnison Valley Hospital for their service and care for our brother.
Richard is survived by his three siblings, Leslie Baguley of Mona, Utah; Ruth Sorenson of Gunnison, Utah; and Kent (Pam) Larsen, also of Gunnison; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Dale and May Jean Buchanan Larsen, and a brother-in-law, Marshall Sorenson, all of Gunnison.
Graveside services for Richard will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the Manti Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:00 - 10:30 A.M. prior to the services at the Manti LDS Tabernacle, 90 South Main Street in Manti.
Burial will be in the Manti Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
