Gunnison, Utah - McKay C. Christensen left this life at the early age of 34 on November 16, 2017 in Cedar City, Utah. McKay was born Oct 20, 1983, the son of Beth Chappell Christensen and the late Joe L. Christensen. McKay grew up in Gunnison, Utah enjoying the outdoors, music, skateboarding and working on his uncle’s farm. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals and especially loved cats. He was diagnosed with diabetes at the tender age of 4 but accepted this trial with a happy outlook on life. McKay earned his Eagle Scout award before graduating from Gunnison Valley High School in 2002. After high school he made his home in Cedar City attending Southern Utah University, studying psychology but later graduating from South West Technical School of Mechanics. McKay will be remembered for his loving, kind, generous heart as well as his big smile and his eagerness to help anyone in need with his cheerful attitude. McKay is survived by his loving mother Beth, of Gunnison; brother; J Rudi (Kristen) Christensen North Carolina along with their children Nixon, Langley and Memphis; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends all of whom loved him dearly. Funeral services were held at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield on November 25, 2017 with interment at the Lyman City Cemetery.
