Torrey, Utah - Our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Mack Curtis, age 59 of Torrey, passed away January 20, 2018 in Provo, Utah, due to a long battle with Crohn's Disease. He was born August 4, 1958 in Salt lake City, a son of McLloyd and Elaine Okerlund Curtis. Shortly after Mack was born, his father died in a vehicle accident, after which his mother married Jay Chesnut who went on to raise Mack. Some of Mack's fondest memories were spent logging on Boulder Mountain with Jay and brothers, Scott and Tuv. Mack was an avid outdoorsman that loved to go on long hikes, camping trips, hunting and four wheeling. Mack married Leesa Ann Shumway May 1, 2003 in Prescott, Arizona. Leesa died June 3, 2007. Mack will be dearly missed for his big smile and stories that always seemed to be stretched further than the truth. Mack is survived by his siblings: Maxine White of North Platte, Nebraska, Judy and Rick Iams of Ogden, Buttons and Marion Chappell of Lyman, Bruce and Noreen Johnson of Bicknell, Scott and Tracy Chesnut of Torrey; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: McLloyd Curtis, Jay Chesnut and Elaine Chesnut; his wife, Leesa Ann Shumway Curtis; his brother, Max "Tuv" Chesnut; and a brother-in-law: Phil White. Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 12 Noon in the Torrey Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
