Salina, Utah - Lorraine Smith, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, businesswoman, and lifelong gardener, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 5, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born March 27, 1947 in Salina, Utah. Lorraine was the eldest of five children, Scott (Brenda) Robinson, Peggy (Gary) Harrison, Kim (Darlene) Robinson, and Lee (Jaime) Robinson. Their parents were Art and Norma Robinson. Even as a child, Lorraine was known for her quiet strength, and sharp wit. Qualities that would define her life and legacy.
Deeply rooted in her hometown of Salina, Lorraine raised her two children, Shelli and Jeffery, with an unwavering devotion to faith, family, and resilience. She led by example, teaching them the value of hard work, the importance of humility, and the grace of showing up for others.
Lorraine met the love of her life, Steve Smith with whom she married on July 7, 2001. They built a life grounded in devotion, laughter, and enduring love. Their marriage was a true partnership, steadfast and humble. A model of commitment for generations to follow.
A gifted businesswoman, she founded Thyme for Herbs where she used her deep knowledge and passion for natural remedies to help others. She was an avid reader and lifelong learner, always eager to expand her understanding and share it with those in need. She served as Vice President of the family business Robinson Transport with dedication, grace, wisdom and a steady hand. But it was in her garden that Lorraine found her deepest peace. There among flowers and soil, she nurtured each plant with the same patience, faith and love she gave to her family.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Smith, her parents Art & Norma Robinson, her brother Lee (Ruger) Robinson and nephew Ryan Robinson. She leaves behind two children, Shelli and Jeffery; three grandchildren, McCall, Matt, and Jefferson; three great-grandchildren, Emerson, Everly, and Sadie Lorraine- who proudly carries her name.
Her family will remember her as a woman of quiet perseverance and boundless love, who listened more than she spoke, and whose presence made the world feel steadier, softer, and more beautiful.
Lorraine was the embodiment of generosity and compassion. She gave selflessly to her community, supported fundraisers, local causes, and always extended a helping hand to the sick, the struggling, and even complete strangers. She cared genuinely and deeply for everyone.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to At Home Healthcare and Hospice for their extraordinary care. Special thanks to Vicki, Kristin, and CeeCee for your professionalism, kindness and for making Lorraine's final days peaceful and dignified.
