Gunnison, Utah - Our kind and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Loraine Finlinson Anderson, age 91, passed away March 26, 2016 at her home in Gunnison, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 29, 1924 in her family home at Oak City, Utah, a daughter of Joshua and Ida Jane Jacobson Finlinson, being the youngest child in a family of 8 children. She graduated from Delta High School, Class of 1942. She married Don Lyman Anderson, Jr. January 22, 1947 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died March 14, 2007. Loraine was a member of the LDS Church, serving in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society on both the Ward and Stake level. Loraine loved to serve and care for people, and that is why she enjoyed her employment at the Gunnison Valley Hospital. She showed unconditional love for the patients for 25 years. She kept a journal from the time she was in Primary. It became a habit and continued for over 80 years. She has over 100 journals and has recorded the events of her life for her family to enjoy. Crocheting and needlework have been lifelong joys to her. She could look at something and figure out how to make the stitches. She designed her own patterns. She loved family get togethers, campouts, birthday parties and her close association with her many friends. Loraine is survived by her six children: Linda and George Blackburn of Fremont; Susan and Pace Ellett of Loa; Darcy and Julia Anderson of Cedar City; JoAnn and Rod Taylor of Gunnison; Darlene and Kim Robinson of Salina; Lyman and Marci Anderson of Redmond; 25 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren, with one more due in April; brother-in-law: Nephi and Kareen Anderson of St. George; sister-in-law: Colleen and Ken Wilkerson of Neola. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her siblings: Dwain J. Finlinson, Donna Sorenson, Oran Finlinson, Olan Wilmore Finlinson, Ina Nielson, Rebecca Pratt and Clarice Nielson.
