Aurora, Utah - Kathleen Marie Goddard Hampton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home in Aurora, Utah, surrounded by love. She was born June 19, 1950, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Clarence and Marjorie Goddard, and grew up in Las Vegas, graduating from Rancho High School.

On June 22, 1968, Kathy married the love of her life, Boyd Wayne Hampton, in the St. George LDS Temple. Their marriage was a true partnership built on love, faith, and loyalty, lasting throughout their lives. Kathy’s devotion to Boyd never wavered, and their bond was an example to all who knew them.

Kathy’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her love into every aspect of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, never missing a school program, sporting event, or milestone. Known affectionately as “Gram” and “Grandma Kathy,” she had a remarkable gift for making each person feel special, celebrated, and deeply loved.

A talented quilter and seamstress, Kathy was known for her extraordinary jean quilts—treasures she lovingly crafted for each of her children and grandchildren upon their high school graduation. She also had a passion for cooking and baking. Her buttermilk syrup, cookies, Christmas candy (especially her famous chocolate turtles), and sweet rolls became family traditions that will be remembered for generations. Kathy also found joy in painting, crafting, and creating beauty in countless forms.

Kathy is survived by her children: Gary Hampton (Salt Lake City, UT), Brian Hampton (Venice, UT), Larry Hampton (Brooke)(Cedar City, UT,), Marjorie Hampton (Aurora, UT), and Marcee Hampton (Las Vegas, NV). She is also survived by her sister, Shawni Portillo (Crestview, FL); her mother-in-law, Elna Hampton (Salina, UT); 16 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Boyd Hampton; her parents, Clarence and Marjorie Goddard; her brother, John Goddard; and her father-in-law, Thurlan Hampton.

Kathy’s life was defined by love, loyalty, creativity, and service to her family. Her hands were rarely still, always busy creating something beautiful for those she loved, and her heart was never closed, always open to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and in the family she adored.
