Karen Pratt Memmott, a beloved wife, mother, and daughter passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 53, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 14, 1972, in Anaheim, California, Karen spent most of her childhood in Gunnison, Utah, where she developed a deep love for her family, community, and the beauty of the outdoors.
She was the daughter of Dr. Von and DeeAnn Pratt. She attended Gunnison Valley High School alongside her friends. On July 12, 1993, she married her sweetheart, Brian Memmott, in Richfield, Utah. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising their family in both Richfield and Gunnison.
Karen was the devoted mother of three daughters: Tesha Memmott, Tierra Thompson (Cameron), and Tasia Memmott. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family—going on spontaneous adventures, reading, listening to music, and dancing with her husband. Karen especially loved going on mountain rides and rock hunting with her loved ones, always making even the smallest moments feel magical.
Known for her kind, loving nature and fun, sweet, stubborn attitude, Karen touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her gentle heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love were a gift to all who had the privilege of calling her family or friend.
Karen’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Brian; her daughters, Tesha, Tierra (Cameron), and Tasia; her mother, DeeAnn Pratt; her siblings, David Pratt, Laura LeVitre, and Shali Shirley; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Von Pratt; her in-laws, Freeman and Lavona Memmott; and her precious grandson, Maddox Thompson.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the Gunnison City Cemetery, where Karen will be laid to rest near her father and her grandson.
