Greenwich, Utah - JiNell Raye Ibey Willardson, age 61, passed away on March 21, 2024 in Greenwich, Utah
JiNell was born August 7, 1962 to Robert William and Darlene DowDell Ibey. She grew up in Whittier, California where she enjoyed babysitting and learning to cook and sew. As a young girl she loved to play with dolls and set up “house” on blankets on the family’s front lawn. She enjoyed shopping with her mother, Grandma DowDell, and sister Joelle. She especially loved kitchen and home stores.
JiNell attended Sierra High School her freshman to junior year of high school. She graduated from Whittier High School in 1980. After graduating, JiNell received an Associate Degree and Interior Design Certificate. She lived in California from 1962-2003 and moved to Utah for the remaining two decades of her life.
JiNell met Marcus Eugene Willardson. They were married in Whittier, California July 10, 1993. Their marriage was later solemnized August 7, 2003 in the San Diego, California temple. Together they had three sons. She truly enjoyed getting to know and love her three step-daughters.
She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in London, England from 1984 to 1985. She was a faithful member throughout her life. She and Marcus served their first service mission with their youngest son, Joseph, in Manti, Utah, landscaping at the Pioneer Heritage Gardens and serving in the Manti Temple (2017 - 2018). She especially loved serving others, both the patrons and on behalf of her ancestors in the temples! She served a second service mission with Marcus at the Bluff Fort in Bluff, Utah (2019).
JiNell and Marcus purchased several "fixer-upper" homes and together they enjoyed restoring them on a tight budget. They enjoyed simple living together. Anyone who knew JiNell knew she was talented. She enjoyed healthy cooking, homemaking, organizing and decorating. She wasted nothing and loved to create from scratch. Her life-long preparational and organizational skills were amazing. She enthusiastically shared these with many others, always referring them the Latter-Day Saints' emergency preparedness and self- reliance programs. JiNell loved clean, uplifting entertainment, church history, pioneer era stories and movies, and visiting areas with beautiful scenery. She was an integral part of her children and grandchildren’s lives and enjoyed their company. She loved service and helping others. She enjoyed singing and sharing her testimony through music. She will be missed by all who knew her.
