Taylorsville, Utah - Henry Vander Veur II, age 77, returned to his Heavenly Father on August 13, 2026.
Henry was born on May 20, 1949, to Henry and Anna Vander Veur. He was the fourth of eleven children and the first of his siblings to be born in the United States after his parents immigrated from Utrecht, Netherlands.
Henry had a love of card games, fishing, and hunting. He especially enjoyed his yearly visits to Lagoon with his family, creating memories that became a cherished family tradition.
Henry also had a lifelong love of cars. He owned a successful car dealership in Murray, Utah, and particularly enjoyed helping family members find and purchase their first cars. His knowledge and love of automobiles became an important part of his life and something he was always happy to share with those around him.
Some of Henry's fondest memories were simple family moments, including making homemade French fries in the deep fryer with his mother and playing cards with his children. These memories remained a meaningful part of his life and reflected the importance of family and tradition.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Margia; his son, Sol; and his brother, Grant.
He is survived by his daughter, Sage Weaver, and his son, Shane Vander Veur, as well as his brothers Frederick, Martin, Andy, John, and Raymond, and his sisters Reinje, Alida, Annette, and Karen.
