Sterling, Utah - Henry E. Larsen, known to most as “Hank” 71, passed away peacefully after a courageous fight with cancer February 12, 2024, in Kingman, Arizona. Hank was born November 23, 1952, in Gunnison, Utah to Eldon J. and Jennie Aleen Ludvigson Larsen of Sterling, Utah. He was the fourth of five children. He grew up in Sterling where he enjoyed farming, working with sheep and at the feed mill with his Dad. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in his younger years.

He graduated from Manti High School Class of 1972. Hank married Angela Caldwell of Gunnison on April 15, 1977. Together they had two daughters, Melissa and Marcee. They later divorced.

Hank started his career as a heavy equipment operator for Cox Rock Products in Centerfield. He also enjoyed working with the Frischknecht’s during the winter herding sheep. He moved to Henderson, Nevada in 1993 where he continued working as a heavy equipment operator until he retired. He knew the value of hard work and was very skilled in operating a CAT bulldozer. During his time in Nevada, he found a love for shooting sporting clays. He even started his own side business “Bustin’ Clays.” While living in Nevada, Henry met Stanellen Whitton; they were married September 13, 2007. After retiring they moved to Kingman, Arizona. They have one adopted son Alex.

Hank had many interests and hobbies. He always liked being creative, artistic and making things with his hands. He even tried his hands at aquaponics and loved it. He loved to spend time in the mountains camping up 6-mile canyon, three-wheeling, shooting, and hunting. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Henry also liked woodworking, leatherwork, painting ceramics, and working with metal. He had a hankering for candy and desserts, and enjoyed watching old western movies and M.A.S.H. You would rarely find him without a hat on his head or a practical joke up his sleeve.

Henry will be missed by all those that loved and cared about him.

He is survived by his wife Stanellen Larsen, daughters, Melissa (Shawn) Christensen, Marcee (Steven) Phelps and son Alex Larsen; 7 grandchildren; siblings Vada (Ron) Howell, Arla (Clair) Otten, LaVaun (Glen) Christensen, and Bryce Larsen.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
