Mayfield, Utah – Dorothy Robertson, age 99, passed away peacefully at her home in Mayfield on June 1, 2025. She was born on December 6, 1925, in San Diego, California, to Horace Shattuck Berry and Hazel Dorothy Berry.
From a young age, Dorothy displayed a deep love for music and aspired to become a teacher. She graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1943, where she was a drum majorette in the San Diego Girls Band. She went on to earn a BA degree in Education with minors in both Music and English.
In December 1950, Dorothy married the love of her life, Ace C. Robertson, in San Diego. Together they shared a beautiful and fulfilling life, recently celebrating their 74th wedding anniversary.
After a long career as an elementary school teacher, she and Ace retired to Mayfield, Utah. Over the past 43 years, Dorothy was a vibrant part of the Mayfield community. She actively participated in the Lyons Club, Mayfield Literary Club, Red Hat Renegades, and the Relief Society. She and Ace loved camping and exploring the local mountains on their ATVs, often searching for arrowheads, birdwatching, and spending time with friends. An adventurous soul, Dorothy traveled to many countries with her family, even attending cooking classes in France with her daughter, Tery.
Dorothy was a devoted member of the Centerfield Baptist Church, serving faithfully as a pianist, organist, and Sunday School teacher. She was also a proud member of the Lion’s Club and shared her passion for music by teaching piano to many children in the Mayfield and Gunnison areas.
She had a lifelong love of music and theater. One of her favorite memories was a 2013 trip to New York with her daughter Sherri, where they attended four Broadway shows, a symphony performance, and a gospel choir tour.
Dorothy lived a rich and joyful life, recently celebrating her 99th birthday surrounded by loved ones at Steve’s Steakhouse in Richfield.
She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Ace Robertson, her children, Johnnie Robertson and his wife Janet, Theresa (Tery) Robertson, and Sherri Wentworth; and her granddaughter, Cristina Wentworth. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Horace and Hazel Berry, and her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ben Copeland.
