Sigurd, Utah - Gloria Dawn Stewart, age 78 passed away peacefully on March 5, 2020 surrounded by many of her children at her home in Sigurd. She was born in Aurora Utah on July 4, 1941 to Floyd and Bessie Mason Curtis. She married Larry Van Stewart on May 13, 1957 who preceded her in death on July 12, 2011. They had their first son Larry Craig in California. They soon moved to Leadville Colorado where their other four children Richard, Randall, Lorrie and Ronald were born. They moved back to Utah in 1986 where she lived the remainder of her life in her home in Sigurd. Gloria loved her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for sewing, quilting, knitting and of course the Denver Broncos. Throughout her life she showed great compassion helping many people becoming a surrogate mother to many. Gloria is survived by her five children, Larry Craig and his wife Rose, Richard and his partner Albert Garcia, Randall and his wife Shelly, Lorrie and her husband Doug Brinkerhoff, and Ronald and his husband Kevin Williams; and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her four siblings, Onda Vee Dotson, Ilene and her husband Morris Parsons, Dent Curtis and Lane Curtis and his wife Chandra. A graveside service will be held on Saturday March 14, 2020 in the Monroe City Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. A reception will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the Richfield Senior Center, 890 North 300 West in Richfield, Utah.
