Salina, Utah – Gary Blair Curtis, age 71, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Salina on Friday, November 15, 2024, of an apparent heart attack. He was born August 31, 1953, in Salina, a son of Blair Doyle and Shirley Peterson Curtis.
Gary grew up in Salina, where he loved riding horses. He was educated and graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1971. He was a lifelong resident of Salina. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and watching Nascar. He carried on his father’s love of gardening and enjoyed sharing his harvest with his neighbors and extended family. He loved his mother’s cooking and took care of her in her later years.
Gary owned and operated Curtis Home Furnishings in Salina, until his retirement. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Gary is survived by his sister, DeAnna Woolsey of Orem; 8 nieces and nephews: Jason, Muranda, Heather, Jason, Ryan, Sonja, Matt and Alisha; and 9 great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Blair and Shirley Curtis; and two brothers-in-law, Lyle Prestwich and Benjiman Woolsey.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Thursday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
