Morgan/Salina, Utah - Our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Dorothy Long Gorman, age 71, passed away August 29, 2018 at her home in Morgan, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 2, 1947 in Salina, a daughter of Vernon Keith and Luella Chamberlain Long. She graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1965, where she was a cheerleader. She married Steven Crane June 3, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union, three daughters were born. Dorothy and Steven later divorced. She married Gary Gorman December 27, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dorothy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite calling in the church was serving in the Nursery. She was a hard worker and had many jobs throughout her life, clothing retail at Paulette's and Mel's for Men in Salina, Wheeler Machinery and Irby Construction as a Secretary, and she cooked and served in local Ma and Pa Cafe's. She was a wonderful cook, loved working in her yard, reading, doing Sudoku puzzles and playing cards. She loved watching sports, loved shopping and always watched FOX News. Dorothy most of all loved her family and grandkids. She was a wonderful and fun person to be around. She was beautiful inside and out! She will be missed by all who knew her. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Gary, of Morgan; children: Heidi and Craig Harrison of Salt Lake City; Hilary and Clay Thomson, Holly Kotter, all of Morgan; step-children: Brandon Gorman of St. George; Regina Wise and Jerry Orr of Vacaville, California; Sharon and Michael Petterborg of Orangevale, California; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother: Luann and Greg Abbott of St. George; John D. Long of Salina; Carolyn and Ron Moosman of Torrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Keith and Luella C. Long; siblings: Delores Long, Betty Jean Miller and Keith Long. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to her wonderful Hospice Nurse, Melanie, for her concerns and tender care that she gave our Mom. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
