Centerfield, Utah / Farmington, New Mexico - Charlene Lucille Buchanan completed her mortal journey November 9, 2025. She was born June 8, 2055, to Mack Neil Buchanan and Elsie Lucille Johnson in Centerfield Utah.
Charley was the youngest child and had three siblings, Jerry Buchanan, Vivian Casper and Roger Buchanan, all of whom are awaiting her return in paradise.
Charley is survived by her nieces and nephews Kenneth Buchanan, Andrew Buchanan, Shawna Casper, Ryan Buchanan, Michelle Buchanan- Smith, Cristi Caracena, Nicolle Buchanan, Stephanie Buchanan and her sister-in-law Cheryl Buchanan and her many friends in New Mexico.
Charley was an accomplished barber and loved cutting hair. Charley was proud of her Scottish heritage and enjoyed attending the Highland Games in Salt Lake City with her family. She was often heard quoting the Scottish proverb “Be happy while you’re living, for you’re a long time dead.” Charley was an example of this with her quick wit and ready laugh. She was a joy to be around and blessed the lives of those who met her.
Charley loved gardening and loved flowers, especially irises. She grew many that would bloom each year, and she loved to show them to her friends and family. She also was an accomplished quilter and enjoyed making Levi quilts for her nieces and nephews.
Charley was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions, blessing the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by her church family.
Funeral services for Charlene Lucille Buchanan took place on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, in Bloomfield, New Mexico under the care of Farmington Funeral Home.
Interment was on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in the Centerfield Cemetery under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Home.
