Obituary

Sigurd lost their oldest resident, Camilla Terry Brown, age 93, on Sunday March 29th.

Camilla was born at home in Enterprise Utah, on March 20, 1933 to Marion Lyman and Leona Hinton Terry. She was the sixth of eleven children. She was raised In Enterprise during the winter months and on her beloved Terry Ranch during the summers. She graduated from Enterprise High school in May 1951.

While working a summer job at Fish Lake she met the love of her life, Clinton Brown, who came from over the mountain from the little town of Koosharem. They were married in Enterprise on Sept. 6th 1952.Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti, Utah Temple in January 23, 1958. They took residence in Sigurd where they raised their five children; Stanley C. Brown of Redmond, Sheldon (Teresa) Brown of Layton UT., Pamela (Danny) Anderson of Sigurd, Patty (Kenneth) Christiansen of Axtell, Beverlee (Travis) Parsons of Salina.

Mom and Dad loved fishing at Fish Lake, Otter Creek, Box Creek and Koosharem reservoirs, camping & pine nut picking and spending time at her family's ranch. Mom worked in the school lunch while her son Sheldon served a mission and all of her earnings were spent to support him. This was a task whe was quite proud of. Then for many years she took a job as a cook at the Senior citizen center in Richfield, Utah. While there she made many lifelong and endering friends. Mom was famous for her home baked bread and her cinnamon rolls. She always made sure there was enough cinnamon rolls to share with her kids, grandkids and many, many nieces and nephews at every gathering at the Ranch.

Camilla is survived by her 5 children, 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren; her sister, Elva Terry (Harold) Singleton, of St. George; her sister-in-law, Ann Terry of Cedar City; and well over one hundred nieces and nephews, that she knew personally!

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter-in-law, Marianne Jorgensen Brown; and grandson, Stanley C Brown Jr.

Funeral services for Camilla will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 4, 2026 in the Sigurd LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held from 10:30-12:30 P.M. at the church prior to the services. Additionally, a luncheon will be available following services.
