Obituary

Monroe, Utah - Brent Jay Long, passed away peacefully in the mountains of Monroe, Utah on May 12, 2026 shortly after celebrating his 70th birthday.

Born in Palo Alto, California on April 4, 1956, he lived a life driven by curiosity, conviction, and a deep desire to seek and share truth. Throughout his professional life, he worked in real estate and entrepreneurship, where his determination, independent spirit, and ability to connect with people left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Brent had a passion for reading and lifelong learning, especially surrounding religious studies, financial systems, and topics that most people would politely avoid bringing up at Thanksgiving dinner. He loved exploring fringe ideas and unconventional theories, and whether you agreed with him or not, you were guaranteed an unforgettable conversation. Friends and family knew that asking Brent a simple question could lead to a two-hour discussion involving world history, gold prices, government policy, scripture, and somehow, all of it would connect perfectly in his mind. He was deeply patriotic and genuinely enjoyed meeting others who shared his perspectives, always eager to exchange ideas and challenge conventional thinking with both seriousness and humor.

Brent was also an athlete at heart and took pride in staying active throughout his life. He especially enjoyed lifting weights with friends, where the workouts were often just as much about conversation and camaraderie as they were about fitness. His strength, discipline, and competitive spirit carried into every part of his life.

To thousands online, Brent was best known as the “Man of Truth,” a title earned through his YouTube presence and loyal following of more than 25,000 subscribers. His viewers regularly tuned in for his thoughts on financial topics, stock market trends, religious discussions, and his well-known insights and projections regarding gold and silver markets. Through his videos and conversations, Brent built a community centered around open dialogue, independent thought, and shared values.

Above all else, Brent cherished his family. He is survived by his children: Jason, Jessica, Jennifer, Jaclyn, Jordon, and Jewel. He was preceded in death by Angela Waite and Leo Long. His family will forever remember his strong spirit, passionate mind, and unwavering individuality.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in the Monroe 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 49 East 200 North, where a viewing will be held from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. prior to the services.
