Richfield, Utah - Barbara Jean Howard Watts passed away on April 26, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 89. Barbara was born on July 19, 1936 in Richfield to James Arthur and Bessie Zelnora Nielsen Howard.
She was the middle child of three girls. Barbara spent most of her life in Richfield. She graduated from Richfield High School in the spring of 1954 and married Jerry Watts on June 2, 1954. They had six children. They later divorced.
Barbara had a strong work ethic and worked many jobs throughout her life.
She had a gift for making beautiful items out of yarn and sharing them with family and friends. She made the best sourdough bread on an old cookstove at the family cabin. She was happiest when she was spending time on the mountain or picnicking in Fish Lake and was always up for a car ride anywhere.
Barbara is survived by her children: Jean (Robert, deceased) Egan of Richfield, Karen (Kim, deceased) Busk of Central Valley, Peggy (Mitch) Unger of Spring Creek, Nevada, Robert (Jolene) Watts of Richfield, Chris (Judy) Watts of Richfield, Jenni (Cortney) Hunt of Spring Creek, Nevada; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Ann and Jill, 2 son-in-laws, 2 grandsons, and 1 great-grandson.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Richfield Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:30 AM at the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield.
Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina.
