Obituary

Riverton/Lyman, Utah - Aaron Jesse Wood was born on June 14, 1977, in Richfield, Utah, to Jesse and Brenda Wood. He grew up in Lyman, alongside his four brothers, Marc, Dustin, Nick, and Cooper. From a young age, Aaron had a need for speed and enjoyed driving recklessly. He loved all things with an engine—especially four-wheelers, motorcycles, and later side-by-sides. Aaron also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his brothers. Growing up, he worked on the family farm and helped care for cattle, experiences that taught him the values of hard work and dedication. Aaron loved being around his friends and was often the center of attention.

Aaron attended Wayne High School, where he was involved in wrestling and FFA. He graduated in 1995 and continued his education at Southern Utah University in Cedar City. After a short time in college, Aaron worked multiple construction jobs in various places before landing his job and lifelong career with Newman Construction. He worked there for 26 years, working his way up to a Superintendent position. Through his work he demonstrated determination, dedication, and a strong work ethic—values he proudly passed on to his sons.

Aaron was the proud father of two boys, Riley and Jaxon, who were the center of his world. He was a strong influence in their lives, teaching them the importance of hard work, loyalty, and taking pride in everything they do. He loved his boys deeply. By his side through life’s adventures was his best friend and partner, Teresa Stott, who supported and joined Aaron in all of his crazy ideas and stood faithfully by his side throughout his battle with cancer. Teresa shared Aaron’s deep love for family and friends and supported everyone through this difficult time.

Aaron also loved his two dogs, Clyde and Wasta, and enjoyed taking them everywhere he went. Aaron was a great friend who loved deeply and valued the relationships he built throughout his life. He loved spending time with his friends and was always looking for a good time. He enjoyed traveling on trips to Argentina, Mexico, South Dakota, and throughout the United States. He especially loved showing friends where he grew up and sharing the beauty of the area with them. Aaron also took his coworkers on annual side-by-side trips to experience the scenery he loved so much. Some of his favorite memories were made on these adventures, and he loved including his friends, brothers, and sons in everything he did.

Aaron passed away peacefully in his home on March 8, 2026, surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. Aaron will be remembered for the kindness he showed, the memories he created, and the lasting impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who held him close.

Aaron is survived by his sons, Riley Wood and Jaxon Wood; his best friend and partner, Teresa Stott of Riverton, Utah; his parents, Jesse and Brenda Wood of Lyman Utah;  and his brothers, Marc (Kimber) Wood Lyman, Dustin (Alyson) Wood of Cedar City, Utah, Nick (Timberlee) Wood, and Cooper (Tisha) Wood of Lyman, Utah.
