Aurora, Utah - Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Venoy John Curtis, age 90, passed away August 6, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Venoy was born March 16, 1915 in Aurora, Sevier County, Utah. He was the youngest of seven children born to Alfred and Margaret Jensine Anderson Curtis. Venoy lived his entire life on the land homesteaded by his father and grandfather, in Aurora. He loved this land and was a good farmer. He married Ina Zoy Aiken October 19, 1936 in Richfield. They were sealed for all eternity in the Manti LDS Temple October 8, 1942. Ina preceded him in death in 1986. They were the kind of parents every child would like to have; and they left a legacy that will not be forgotten. Venoy was a kind, pleasant and gentle man who was held in the highest esteem by all those who knew him. Honesty and integrity were a way of life with Venoy. He was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions where he served with love and charity for all. One of his greatest loves was the calling of Home Teacher where he never missed a month of visiting his assigned families. He taught us all the meaning of enduring to the end through his long and sometimes painful suffering during his final years. Venoy is survived by his son, Craig (Linda) Curtis of Salt Lake City; daughter, Venna (Earle) Severance of Sandy; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers: Velma Ottley, Faye Harward, Lealeth Hallows, Clayola Johnson, Lloyd Curtis and Levon Curtis. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 12 Noon in the Aurora 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
