Russell F. Forbush

January 19, 1956 — June 5, 2018

Monroe, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Russell Franklin Forbush, age 62, of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in Richfield, doing what he enjoyed doing, stucco work on a home. He was born January 19, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Hart Verdon and Dorothy Lee Forbush. He graduated from South Sevier High School, Class of 1974 and attended some college. He married Peggy Lee Jensen September 6, 1980 in Monroe, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 26, 1999. He worked as an apprentice to Ray Jensen, where he eventually started his own stucco business, that has influenced many communities. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as Primary and Sunday School Teacher, served in the Young Men's Program, Elder's Quorum Presidency and High Priest Group. He loved his time serving and working with the youth of the church. Russell was a huge proponent of the 2nd Amendment and a long time member of the National Rifle Association, in which he received multiple recognitions of his dedication. His passion in life was spending time with family, especially his grandkids. He loved to take them on outdoor activities, fishing, hiking, shooting firearms, hunting, riding ATV's, horseback riding, looking for arrowheads and much more. He also made time to start a pheasant reserve where he raised the birds and trained his Vizsla dogs for the hunt. Russell will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Monroe; his children: Alden and Haley Forbush of Monroe; Ruachel and Alex MacLean of Massachusetts; Megan and Brian Bollard of Lehi; Derrick and Tawnni Forbush of Springville; 13 grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Paula and Brent Johnson of Orem; Deidre and Joedy Hansen, James and Sherrilee Forbush, all of Monroe; Karl Forbush of Salt Lake City and Kenneth Forbush of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bruce Lee Forbush. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Monroe LDS Stake Center, 140 South Main Street in Monroe. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Stake Center in Monroe, Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
