Richfield, Utah – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Neal Ray Craythorn, age 58, passed away October 19, 2021 at his home in Richfield. He was born September 26, 1963 in Heyburn, Idaho, a son of Kenneth Irvin and Elveda Renon Randall Craythorn. He graduated from Minico High School in 1981 and got his Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix in Salt Lake City. Neal grew up in Heyburn, where he enjoyed showing 4-H lambs and pigs at the county fair. This helped to develop his love of raising, showing and judging show rabbits for the next 40 years. He loved to travel all over the United States showing and judging rabbits. He loved the family trips to Yellowstone, a place that became very special to him, with Grandpa and Grandma Craythorn. He was known as “Neal Ray, the Bear fighter” by his Craythorn grandparents. He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. Neal married Susan Vay Carsey September 7, 1984 in South Jordan, Utah and they made their home in the Salt Lake Valley for the next 17 years. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was involved in the youth programs, coaching softball and served as a Scout Master. Neal was very generous, kind hearted and loved his family. He loved spoiling his grandchildren. Neal is survived by his wife, Susan, of Richfield; his parents, Kenneth and Renon Craythorn of Heyburn, Idaho; two daughters: Michelle Craythorn of Vernal; Sonya and Scott Fitzpatrick of Roosevelt; 3 grandchildren; siblings: Gail and Sherie Craythorn of Las Vegas, Nevada; Lynn and Shereen Craythorn of Wendover, Nevada; Karma Bishop of Heyburn, Idaho; Letitia and Aaron Neito of El Paso, Texas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: George and Elveda Randall; Irvin and Leona Craythorn. Memorial services will be held at a later date under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
