Kathryn R. Bowen Richfield, Utah - Kathryn Rollins Bowen, age 76, of Richfield, returned to the arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 in Provo, Utah of complications from surgery. Her heart failed. She was born October 19, 1926 in Stockton, Utah, a daughter of Julian Evans and Hilda Eyre Rollins. She had five brother, Dick, Don, Jean, Carlyle and Gary. Kathryn was raised in Parowan, Utah, with AnnaMae Peterson Perry as her closest friend. After the death of her mother, Kathryn at age 13, raised her five brothers. She graduated from Parowan High School, Class of 1944. Kathryn married William Ray Bowen, May 21, 1945 in Parowan, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 12, 1952. Together they raised five children: Michael (Janice) Bowen, Salt Lake City; Geri (Almon) Dickinson, Richfield; Jacqueline (Leland) Curtis, Salina; Jeff (Carrie) Bowen, Salt Lake City; Blaine (Chris) Bowen, Boise, Idaho. William and Kathryn spent 58 years together. They lived in Virginia while Bill was in the Navy doing his part during World War II. They also lived in Los Angeles, CA. while Bill was going to school. Later they lived in Cedar City, Prineville, OR., Salt Lake City, Salina and Pahrump, NV. and finally Richfield, Utah. Kathryn served in the Primary and the Relief Society organizations for many years. She spent much time in her gardens. She is a master seamstress, baker and handiwork craftsman. Her greatest accomplishment and greatest love has always been her husband and her children. She was generous with her time and talents, always putting her family first in all considerations. She is a master at recognizing the needs of those around her. Kathryn is survived by her husband of Richfield;their five children and spouses; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers: Carlyle (Helen) Rollins, Vernal and Gary (Cathy) Rollins, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by parents and three brothers: Dick, Don and Jean Rollins. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. in the Parowan City Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, Friday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. Burial will be in the Parowan City Cemetery.
