Glen P. Willardson

November 1, 1929 — February 11, 2004

Glen P. Willardson Richfield, Utah - Glen Pierce Willardson, age 74, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004 at his home in Richfield, from a sudden heart attack. He was born November 1, 1929 in Gunnison, Utah, a son of Anthony Robert and Alice Eva Pierce Willardson. Glen graduated from Gunnison High School, Class of 1948. He received his B.S. in Political Science at BYU and did his graduate studies at the University of Southern California. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Glen married Helen Elizabeth Matthews, September 3, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a very active member of the LDS Church. He served in many church callings including: Bishop, Stake High Council, Stake Executive Secretary, Counselor in the Stake Presidency. He and Helen, together served a mission to England Birmingham. Glen was City Manager of Clearfield City for six years. He managed Garkane Power in southern Utah for 28 years. Glen served for many years in several public power organizations. He organized and served as President of the Sons of Utah Pioneers, Sevier Chapter. Glen enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, ballgames and his grandkids. He is survived by his wife of Richfield; children: Tony (Colleen) Willardson, Murray; Russell (Karen) Willardson, South Jordan; Shelley (Scott) Fife, Auburn, WA; Barry (Veronique) Willardson, Lindon; Marti (Greg) Tuttle, El Dorado Hills, CA; Kendall (Julie) Willardson, Richfield; Rick (Melissa) Willardson, McKinney, TX; Jana (Nathan) Cherrington, Tucson, AZ; 36 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters: Robert Willardson, Spokane,WA; Lynn Brown, Springville; Karen Birchfield, Mountain Home, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. in the Richfield 7th LDS Ward Chapel, located at 159 North 400 West in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the ward chapel, Tuesday from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Sevier VFW Post #5050 will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
