Salt Lake City, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, Floy Nielson Morrison, age 93, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 in Salt Lake City. She was born June 4, 1922 in Glenwood, Utah, a daughter of Floyd and Emma Sophronia Hellquist Nielson. She married Kix B. Morrison, January 3, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died December 2, 2008. Floy and Kix lived in California for a few years and then moved to Monroe to live in the old family home. After a while in Monroe, they moved to Salt Lake City where Kix worked as a carpenter and later for Sandy City in parks and recreation. They always enjoyed it when family would come to visit from Monroe and always had a bed for them to sleep in. Their first son, Larry Kix Morrison, was killed in a tragic automobile accident at the age of 19. Their second child, a daughter was stillborn and their last son, Kim lives in Salt Lake City with his wife, Lori. Floy, Kix and Kim were always loyal to each other. Kim and Lori were married at Thanksgiving time in 2008 while Kix was in the hospital, and unable to attend. This marriage gave him comfort and fulfillment, because of his love and concern for his wife and son. Kim and Lori have faithfully taken care of Floy during her years alone and always been there to support her in all of her endeavors. Floy is survived by her son, Kim and his wife, Lori, of Taylorsville; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren with a new one due in December. She is also survived by her three sisters-in-law, whom she considered to be sisters: Connie Parsons and Peggy Nielson, both of Monroe; Mavis and Ralph Kotter of Tremonton. One of them checked on her almost every day. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Coy Curtis, who was always there for Floy; Brad Wilder and his family who were also constantly there for her; Phil Homes who kept her yards up; Tami, Brook and Isabel from A Step Forward Home Health that took such good care of her daily needs. Floy is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Larry; her stillborn daughter; her lifetime sweetheart of 62 years, Kix B. Morrison; a sister and two brothers: Cleo Bredsgaard, Calvin Nielson and Gerald Nielson.
