Bud Nielson

Richfield, Utah - Our kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Erval LeRoy “Bud” Nielson, age 74, of Richfield, died December 14, 2006 in Richfield, Utah, of complications from a stroke. He was born May 30, 1932 in Orem, Utah, a son of Enos LeRoy and Gladys Davis Nielson. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Orem, Class of 1950. Bud married Shirley June Mecham, April 2, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced. He married Mona Rose Denning, May 20, 1974 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bud worked as a crane operator for US Steel and later as a truck driver for Geneva Rock in Orem. He also worked for Berg Mortuary in Provo and Orem for 9 years in the late 50's and early 60's. Bud loved hunting, fishing and riding his four wheelers. After his retirement, Bud and Mona moved to Richfield 12 years ago. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Mona, of Richfield; his children: Pam and Randy Rollis of Lakewood, Washington; Vickey and Neal Bake, Don A. Nielson, all of Tooele; Kyle and Shannan Nielson of Orem; Debra and Marty Farley of Hesperus, Colorado; Steven and Pat Canfield of Mesquite, Nevada; Halla and Jeff Lacey of Buhl, Idaho; Sherrie and Troy Parker of Nephi; Kathy and Mark Jones of Lewiston, Idaho; Eric and Jennifer Nielson of Canfield, Ohio; 29 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Jean and Les Winter of Bountiful. Private family services were held at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield. At the request of the deceased, no public funeral or grave side services will be held at this time. A memorial service will be held in the summer to celebrate the life of Bud Nielson. Funeral Directors: Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
