Elsinore, Utah - Anastacio Reyes Garcia, age 74, of Elsinore, returned to his heavenly father May 4, 2013, in the comfort of his many loving family members. "Tacho", as he was widely known, was born in Corona, California, June 25, 1938, a son of Anastacio Sr. and Paula Reyes Garcia. He grew up in Riverside County until the age of 18, when he joined the United States Air Force, specializing in Communications. In 1961 he met the love of his life, Carmen Lopez Murillo, or "Mama", whom he later wed nearly one year to the day they first met. They were married June 2, 1962 in Corona, California. They remained happily married for 50 years, raising four young boys into fine, respectable men. Tacho also served numerous enlistments in the National Guard, which transferred him to Utah in 1974. His family resided in Elsinore, and Tacho later went to work at the SUFCO Mine. During his 22 year tenure there, he worked in various positions, and even invented a device for belts, known as the "tacho bar". Tacho retired in 1999, but continued to work alongside his close friends in the farming industry. His passions in life included spending quality time with his sons, watching his grandkids grow up and enjoying life with his two great-grandsons. He also loved every moment spent with Carmen, or "hot pants", as he would sometimes call her. Tacho's hobbies included fixing whatever he could get his hands on, fishing, hunting, riding his four-wheeler and farming. Tacho was a great father, husband and man who treated everyone with generous love and respect. He was a gentle soul who will be dearly missed by his close family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carmen, of Elsinore; his four sons: Anastacio M. Garcia, Rob and Cindy Garcia, all of East Carbon; Rich and Michelle Garcia of Elsinore; Dave and Bobbie Garcia of St. George; his grandchildren: Marcia and Gabriel, Anthony, Tyler, Melanie, Jacqulyn, Cheryl, Roger and Alexis; Sondie and Derick, Vanessa, Robert, Shanesa, Aubrie, Alexis, Mackenzie, and Seth; his great-grandchildren: Halton, Hayden, Mia, Lily, and Ecie. Tacho was preceded in death by his parents: Anastacio Sr. and Paula Garcia; his siblings: Jack, Jessie, Bob, David, Manuel and Vera. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Assembly of God Church, 110 North 300 East in Richfield, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
